Maskotio Laboratory is a prototype for a 3D, Twitch-connected, Tamagotchi-like experience.
Raise your Maskotio and interact with it live on Twitch channels. Slide through the data stream, collecting animal DNA and Emogy (emotional energy) from chat text and emoticons to unlock new customization options for your Maskotio and its tiny planet.
Each Maskotio features 13 customizable body parts (eyes, irises, nose, eyebrows, ears, teeth, tongue, hair, ear fur, horns, tail, shoulders, skin color) and 13 different animal DNAs (poodle, cat, owl, mouse, rat, elephant, deer, ram, rabbit, snail, pig, wyvern, ant). These combine to create unique procedural body patterns, plus you can add clothes and accessories for further personalization.
I personaly:
Created the game concept document, detailing core mechanics, world-building, art direction, and a business plan targeted at investors and financers.
Designed and prototyped levels using Blender and Unity, including environment assets, lighting, collectibles, and obstacles.
Conceptualized and designed the Maskotios, their world, personalities, and all customizable parts and accessories, working within Unity’s technical constraints.
I also gave them my voice and created a "Maskotio keyboard," allowing them to sing playful sounds like "nom," "yum," and "miam" — because they absolutely love munching on emojis!
